The State Treasurer is holding over 5 billion dollars in unclaimed funds for Illinoisans. The Illinois State Treasurer's Unclaimed Property Division connects state residents with their unclaimed property. A representative will be in the lobby to help patrons search for money or valuables in the state's unclaimed property database. Searches are done by name and address.
The State holds these lost funds until they are claimed by either the original owner or their heirs. Property is returned at no cost with the proper identification.
