Instructor Bio: Karen Zegarlinski
Hi! I am Karen, a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, residing in Tinley Park. My primary goal when teaching fitness is to help clients move their bodies in the best way they can, living each day a little healthier than the day before.
I have always had a love for fitness. I enjoyed physical activities and sports as a young child and was introduced to group fitness in high school gym class during an aerobics unit featuring Reebok Step class. From that point on, I was hooked on the fitness life.
My love of servicing people led me to the start of my professional career after college in Human Resources. After 8 years working as a Director of Payroll & Benefits, my focus shifted gears, and I became a stay-at-home mom in 2006.
I continued to enjoy taking group fitness, participating in in-person classes and home workouts, through three pregnancies and then coordinating that workout time with hectic schedules raising three young boys. Making time for health and fitness in my life has always been a priority. No gimmicks; no quick fixes; just real-life strategies.
In 2018, I took the leap from member to instructor, earning my AFAA Group Fitness Instructor certification, followed by my ACE Personal Trainer certification in 2001. I am also Keiser Cycling certified; experienced in TRX Suspension Training; and have completed American Heart Association’s First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
With over 25 years of exposure in the fitness industry as a consumer and over 6 years of professional experience in the coaching realm, I cannot wait to help numerous others in their real-life journey with health and fitness.
