Grades 6-8: Participants read a title from the Caudill 2026 Young Readers' Book Award nominee list each month. This month we'll be discussing Parachute Kids by Betty C. Tang. In this graphic novel, ten-year-old Feng Li Lin and her older brother and sister learn they will remain in California while their parents return to Taiwan, forcing them to navigate a new school, a new language, bullies, racism, and the pressures of running a household.
At our book discussion TPPL will provide each attendee a snack and drink from a preselected menu. Book club meets at the following location: Bean N' Breek 17835 80th Avenue, Tinley Park, IL 60477.
